No One Should Have to Choose Between Education and Acceptance

Both individuals and society benefit from the right to education. It is fundamental for human, social, and economic development and a key element to achieving lasting peace and sustainable development.

In America, obtaining a quality education is a privilege. The public school system is not set up to encourage equal opportunity.

Why Supporting AWESOME INC Matters

Supporting AWESOME INC is vital because it addresses intersecting challenges that are often overlooked in mainstream support systems. Here’s why this work is essential and why donors, partners, and volunteers should get involved:

Addressing Unique Challenges

LGBTQIA+ youth from marginalized ethnic backgrounds face unique challenges, including increased rates of homelessness, mental health struggles, and discrimination. These challenges are often compounded by cultural stigmas and limited family or community support, making targeted interventions crucial.

Filling Gaps in Mainstream Services

Many mainstream LGBTQIA+ resources lack a nuanced understanding of ethnic-specific issues, while ethnic-focused services may not be inclusive of LGBTQIA+ needs. Your organization bridges this gap, providing a safe space where youth feel understood on both fronts.

Promoting Equity and Inclusion

By supporting these youth, your organization is fostering a more equitable society. Empowering them helps dismantle barriers to opportunity, builds confidence, and paves the way for them to contribute positively to their communities.
